Description

The Old Farmhouse, Hill Top Farm Cottage, The Old Barn and Stables Corner is a farmhouse and barn, now divided into four separate residences. The house dates from 1661, likely built in the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble with quoins and a plinth, topped with a stone slate roof featuring stone coping and kneelers. The building has a two-cell double depth plan.

On the ground floor, there is one two-light stone mullioned window, one four-light window, and one five-light window, with a chamfered door located between them. All ground floor openings are adorned with hoodmoulds. The first floor includes one two-light window and two four-light windows, some of which have chamfered jambs and heads. The left side of the building features a single-storey porch with a carved door head and an inner oak studded door. The gable of the porch has two small arch-headed windows, with a reset datestone above inscribed with "MB/1661."

Inside, the property contains Tudor arched doorways and stone fireplaces. The attached barn to the right, built in the later 18th century, features a segmental arch made from two massive stone lintels with voussoirs carved on them.
