Description
Rye Flat Farmhouse and the attached barn form a single range, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. The structure is made of stone and features a stone slate roof with stone coping and moulded kneelers. It is two storeys high and includes one four-light and one three-light chamfered stone mullion window. A moulded dripstone extends as a string course. On the first floor, there are two four-light mullion windows with semicircular heads. The doorway has a moulded Tudor-arched head, and there is a blocked doorway to the right. The barn, located to the right and under the same roof, has a plain doorway and a small square window to the right, along with several walled-up openings. The farmhouse is reputed to have been a public house.
