Description
Nos 16, 18, and 20 on Newchurch Street are two houses that have been converted into three cottages, dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof, featuring stone coping, moulded kneelers, and gutter corbels. The buildings are two storeys tall, with Nos 16 and 18 originally being one dwelling. They have two three-light flat-faced stone mullion windows and a central gabled porch that includes a modern window and door. No 20 is set back to the right and has an 'L' shaped plan. The first bay features a small sash window, while the second bay has a small lunette window with a keystone and a small single light sash window. There is also a two-light stone mullion window on the first floor and a plain doorway to the right. The return gable includes a small single light sash and a two-light stone mullion window, along with another two-light stone mullion window and a square sash window on the first floor. In total, there are three chimneys across the buildings.
