Description

This is a farmhouse, now divided into three dwellings, dated 1796. It is located in Barley-with-Wheatley Booth. The building is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof, featuring stone coping, kneelers, and gutter corbels. Quoins are presented in relief. The farmhouse is three storeys high and symmetrical in design. A square-headed door is topped with a pediment inscribed “H/W+M/1796”. There are three sash windows on each floor, with glazing bars; the outer windows on the first floor are tripartite. The glazing bars have been removed from the right-hand window on the ground floor. A later addition to the left, built in ashlar, matches the height of the original farmhouse and contains sash windows with glazing bars on each floor. A plain doorway is located to the right of the addition, and a lower extension on the right is of little architectural interest.
