Description

Clougha Cottage is a house dating from 1827. It is constructed of squared sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The two-storey facade is arranged with two bays initially, featuring a central doorway with a simple stone surround and cornice hood. Above the door is a plaque inscribed 'JSD MCCCXXVII'. To the right of this initial section is a further bay with a ground-floor door and window, both having plain stone surrounds. A wide entrance with a segmental arched head is positioned further right, above which is a window. A final door, again with a plain stone surround, completes the right-hand side of the facade. Chimneys are located on the left-hand gable, to the right of the second bay, and to the right of the third bay. Adjoining the cottage to the south is a barn. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars and simple stone surrounds.
