Description

The archway, located approximately 32 meters west-southwest of the Parish Church of St Peter, is a Grade II listed structure. It was originally the north doorway of the Church of St Peter and dates back to the period before the Conquest. The archway was relocated to its current position when the north aisle of the church was added in 1864. It is constructed of sandstone and features a segmental arch with roughly long-and-short jambs. There is a recess for a door on the west side, and it is set within a short length of rubble wall.
