Description

Dock Acres is a house, now used as a site office, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with limestone dressings and features a slate roof. The building is 2 and a half storeys tall, with an extension on the right side.

The central doorway, which has a plain stone surround, is now blocked. To the left of the doorway is another door with plain reveals. On the right side, there are two sashed windows with glazing bars, separated by a square stone mullion, and they have plain stone lintels and sills. On the first floor, to the left, there is a sashed window with glazing bars and plain reveals. To the right, there is a Venetian window surround made of plain stone, featuring sashed windows with glazing bars. The attic has two windows with plain reveals.

The right-hand extension includes a doorway with plain reveals and a modern window with plain reveals on the ground floor, a sashed window with glazing bars and plain reveals on the first floor, and an attic window with plain reveals, glazing bars, and a pivoted casement. The rear wall is partly obscured by later buildings.

On the left end of the building, there are sashed windows with glazing bars and plain reveals: one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. In the center, there is a blocked opening with a plain stone surround, above which is a stair window with plain reveals and small leaded panes.

Inside, the central room features free Greek revival details from the early to mid-19th century. The Venetian window has an elliptical inner relieving arch, attached columns with Adam-style capitals, and a naturalistic vine frieze. The barn adjoining to the south has a wide entrance with plain reveals.
