Description
The western range of buildings at Royal Albert Farm, part of the Royal Albert Hospital, is a group of farm buildings constructed in the late 19th century, likely designed by the architectural firm Paley and Austin. The buildings are made of squared coursed sandstone rubble and feature a green slate roof. They are single storey, rising to two storeys on the left (south) side, which includes a round-arched loading door beneath a projecting gable. On the right side, there are three doorways with two windows positioned between each. These buildings were originally built as ancillary structures for the Royal Albert Idiot Asylum, which was completed in 1873 and is now known as the Royal Albert Hospital.
