Description

Double Bridge (No.85) is an accommodation bridge over the Lancaster Canal, opened in 1797. It was engineered by John Rennie and is constructed from punched sandstone blocks. The bridge features a single elliptical arch with a stepped keystone, and has a solid parapet with a band and rounded coping. It carries two tracks that are separated by a wall.
