Description

Lane House is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared, punched sandstone with a slate roof and follows a double-pile plan. The house presents a symmetrical facade of two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within plain stone surrounds. The front door has a plain stone surround with rounded upper corners, flanked by attached Ionic columns supporting an entablature with a blocking course. A cornice runs along the eaves, also with a blocking course. Gable chimneys are present. The right-hand (north) gable wall features three bays of sash windows with glazing bars, and an attic window with glazing bars and a semi-circular head.
