Description

The Junction Bridge is a roving bridge that carries the towpath of the main Lancaster Canal over the Glasson Branch. It was built between 1823 and 1825 and is constructed from sandstone ashlar. The bridge features a single elliptical arch with chamfered voussoirs and a keystone. It has a solid parapet that includes a string course, weathered coping, and end piers.
