Description

No. 26 New Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the mid-18th century but was largely rebuilt around 1987. The building is constructed from coursed and roughly dressed sandstone and features a slate roof. It has a double-depth plan with an axial stack located to the right. The structure stands three storeys high and has three bays, topped with an eaves cornice. The ground floor showcases a late 20th-century shop front, while the upper windows are fitted with plain surrounds and 12-pane sash windows, which had horns added during the 1987 renovation. The building is listed for its group value.
