Description
The Caulking House, dating from the early 19th century, is a house constructed of sandstone rubble with a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features two bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds. The door, located between the bays, also has a plain stone surround. The gables are topped with chimneys and copings that include kneelers.
Adjoining the house on the left is a lower section that is now partly used as a garage, which has a slate roof. This section includes two wide entrances with segmental arches; the right-hand entrance is blocked and has a window that is a recent addition. The left-hand entrance intersects with an earlier blocked window. The two first-floor windows have plain stone surrounds and splayed mullions, which are a modern restoration. There is a chimney on the left-hand gable.
