Description
Bank House Farmhouse is a house built in 1690, with some alterations. It is constructed from pebbledashed sandstone and features a steep slate roof. The building has a three-cell lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays. The windows have plain reveals, and there is a door with plain reveals located between the second and third bays. The gables are topped with copings and footstones. There are chimneys on the left-hand gable and aligned with the door. At the rear of the house, the windows also have plain reveals, except for one on the ground floor which has a chamfered surround. Inside, the middle room includes a firehood bressumer and two chamfered axial main joists. There is a spice cupboard in the back wall of the hearth, which has a door inscribed with 'TFE 1690'. The northern room features a small stone fireplace typical of the 18th century, complete with a false fluted keystone.
