Description
The former stable block, located approximately 20 metres east of Dunkenhalgh Hotel, dates from the 18th century and has been altered for use as living quarters for hotel staff. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and watershot coursed sandstone, topped with a concrete tile roof. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of three elements and is two storeys high with a symmetrical design. The central part, made of dressed stone, features a ground floor arcade with three segmental arches and an impost band, along with three altered square windows above. The outer bays, which are slightly stepped back, also maintain symmetry, each with a central door, two windows on the ground floor, and two bullseye windows above.
