Description
Holt Mill House is a public house, likely built in the late 18th century, that has since been converted into a house. It features watershot coursed sandstone that has been painted white, with black stone dressings, and a concrete tile roof with gable chimneys. The building has a double-pile three-bay plan and stands two storeys tall. The front of the house includes dressed quoins and an eaves band with gutter brackets. The door is offset to the right of centre and has a rectangular surround with imposts and a fanlight. To the left of the door, there are coupled windows on both floors, along with three other windows, all of which have plain stone surrounds. Both gables have attic windows. The rear of the building features a four-tier stairlight made up of coupled windows, although the bottom level, which leads to the cellar, is now blocked and concealed, and the third level has been altered. Inside, there is a vaulted cellar. This listing is included for its group value with Holt Mill Cottages.
