Description

Tottleworth Bridge, built around 1810 by engineers Robert Whitworth and Joseph Priestley, spans the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. The bridge is constructed from coursed sandstone and features a high elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs. It has bands and parapets, which have been raised or altered, along with copings and pilastered ends. There are steps leading to the towpath on the south side at the east end. A large pipe pierces the abutments and is arched across the south side.
