Description
The former fire engine house, located at the corner of Church Road, is a building from the 19th century. It features a brick plinth and box-framed walls adorned with pargeted plaster panels. The roof is covered in red tiles and has a distinctive cockscomb ridge, along with pierced bargeboards at the gables. A louvred bellcote with a red tiled pyramidal roof is situated near the rear gable. The structure is a small single cell with its gable facing the road, showcasing red painted double doors with strap hinges. Above the doors, there is a lintel with a metal plate that reads "FIRE ENGINE," which is now painted black. Decorative black-and-white panelling is present on each side of the doors and in the gable above. On the south side, there is a gutter embossed with lion heads, supported by curly brackets.
