Description
This stable building, dating from around 1825, is located approximately 20 metres north of the Church of St. Bede. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with large quoins and features a slate roof. The building has a rectangular two-bay plan and stands two storeys high. The entrance is situated at the west end of the south wall, accompanied by a window. There is another door at the east end wall, which has very large jamb stones, and next to it is a very small square window, along with a square 9-paned window on the first floor above. The north wall includes a small square window located under the eaves. Inside, there are two stalls in the stable at the west end and a provender room at the east end, along with a hayloft that features a kingpost roof truss. The building is listed for its group value only.
