Description

The farmhouse, dated 1693 as inscribed on the lintel above the front door, has undergone alterations over time. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, and has a slate roof with stone gable coping. A brick and stone chimney rises from the building. The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan, featuring an end-baffle-entry design and a rear wing, with various attached lean-to additions.

The two-storey front elevation incorporates a modern gabled porch aligned with the right-hand gable chimney, protecting the doorway. The doorway itself has a roll-moulded surround and a lintel bearing the inscription "G R A M 16 93," with stepped lettering within a deeply chamfered square recess that frames a carved inverted heart. The front has two large windows on each floor, all of which have been altered. A brick corner chimney is visible to the left, while the right gable features a rebuilt stone chimney. A high plinth extends along the first bay and left gable wall, continuing into the rear wing, which is one bay and one and a half storeys high. The rear wing has a broad gable wall with altered mullioned windows; originally these windows were three and two lights at ground floor level and two lights in the gable, all formerly with hoodmoulds, but now lacking all mullions except for one chamfered flush mullion in the three-light window. Other sections are obscured by lean-to additions.

Inside the house, the room in the second bay contains an inglenook fireplace with a bressummer and stop-chamfered beams. The parlour in the first bay has a cross-corner fireplace, both now altered.
