Description

This is a farmhouse, now a house, originally built as a gamekeeper's cottage in 1707. It was later enlarged and altered. The exterior is constructed from sandstone rubble with quoins; the front has been rendered and painted white. It has a slate roof. The original design was a two-bay end-baffle-entry plan, with a continuous outshut added beneath a catslide roof, and a single-storey game and gun room added to the right.

The doorway on the left-hand end has a chamfered surround and an undercut lintel with a panel carved in relief reading "17. IN . 07". To the right of the doorway is a four-light chamfered mullion window with a hoodmould, where the third mullion has been replaced with concrete. A buttress is centrally located, with three tie-plates at the first floor level. A horizontal rectangular window is visible to the right, with two similar windows on the first floor. The later addition to the side is of less architectural interest. The rear elevation features a door and two two-light casement windows.

Inside, there is a brick hearth with a peep window, and parlour cupboards with handmade hinges. The rest of the interior has been altered.
