Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres south west of Pyebrook Hall, was likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone with quoins and features a slate roof. The barn has a rectangular three-bay plan and is symmetrical in design. The central entrance for wagons is elliptical-headed and includes a keystone, although it is now covered by a large asbestos-roofed canopy. The north gable has slit breathers at four different levels and an owl hole, while the south gable features three doors (one of which has been altered to serve as a window), four slit breathers above, two circular pitching holes, and another owl hole. The barn is included for its group value with the nearby Pyebrook Hall.
