Description

The Habergham Eaves War Memorial is located next to St Matthew’s Church on St Matthew Street. It is constructed from Portland stone and features a simple bronze Latin cross atop a stone orb, which is mounted on a triangular-sectioned stone shaft. This shaft rises from a triangular plinth that stands on a circular base. On the front face of the shaft, there is a carved wreath that encircles the inscription "1914/ 1919" in low relief.

The front face of the plinth bears an inscription that reads: "+ IN THANKFUL REMEMBRANCE OF THE MEN/ OF THIS PARISH AND CONGREGATION/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR (NAMES)/ R.I.P."
