Farmhouse, now house. Probably later C17; much altered. Scored render painted white, slate roof. Single-depth 3-bay plan plus parallel one-bay range on north side. EXTERIOR: facade of 2 gabled bays, that to the left smaller and set back; with enlarged windows of 4 and 5 lights at ground floor, a 3-light window at 1st floor to the left also slightly enlarged, and a 4-light window to the right with chamfered mullions; and hood-moulds to all these windows except that at ground floor to the right. Ridge chimney to left range; narrow side-wall chimney to the right-hand range. The 3-bay right-hand return side has 3-light chamfered mullion windows at 1st floor of the 1st bay and on both floors of the 2nd bay; otherwise, altered. INTERIOR: the 1st bay of the larger portion has 2 large chamfered lateral beams and original chamfered joists of square section, and the 2nd bay has one similar beam with similar joists. The smaller portion has 2 replacement beams. At 1st there is a timber-framed partition between these bays, with exposed tie-beam, and a heavy studded plank door with elaborate strap hinges below the tie-beam (this doorway now blocked to the rear), and the 1st bay has a fine chamber fireplace with a moulded surround and deep triangular lintel. Otherwise, altered. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: wall to street, of coursed sandstone rubble, approx 1m high, with rounded coping; wide gateway to yard on right-hand side of house.
