Description

Langham Grove Obelisk is an obelisk erected in 1714 by the 2nd Earl of Warrington in memory of his mother. It features a five-step base, with a needle that rises from an engraved pedestal. The pedestal is inscribed with "The Langham Grove Planted A.D. 1714 M.H.T." and has a moulded base and cornice. There is a tradition that the obelisk marks the grave of a race-horse.
