Description
Ashton New Hall is a house, now divided into two houses, built in 1804. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with a slate roof and has two storeys and five bays in a double-pile plan. Porches have been added to the left and right gables. The building features a stone plinth, a modillion eaves cornice, and gable stacks. The central entrance has an 8-panel door flanked by three-quarter columns, topped with an open pediment and a fanlight with radial bars. There are nine 12-pane sash windows, each with stone sills and cambered brick arches, and an arched stair window on the left gable. Inside, the house retains some plasterwork cornices, ceilings, and window shutters.
