Description
Erlam Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on Partington Bailey Lane. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a slate roof. The building is a double-depth, two-storey house that originally had a central entrance and a rear wing. Notable architectural details include a projecting plinth, rusticated quoins, and a dentilled eaves cornice. The near-symmetrical front elevation has a blocked central door beneath a blind first-floor opening, which has a segmental arched lintel and keystone. There are two single glazing bar sash windows on each floor, all with wedge lintels, which appear to have been enlarged from earlier openings. The farmhouse has gable chimney stacks with oversailing courses. At the rear, there is a 19th-century wing that features a decorative wooden gabled porch with a partially glazed door and various casement windows, some of which date from the 20th century.
