Description

A row of seven cottages, dating from the early 18th century to the early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed, watershot stone, with a roof of graduated stone slates. Originally a terrace of two-storey, single-depth cottages spanning seven bays, the row was extended in the 19th century, likely when number 2 was built. Each cottage features a door surround of square-cut stone, with the exception of number 9, which has panelled stone pilasters and a rose motif carved into the keystone; this was the first cottage built. The ground floor windows are mullioned, with 2, 3, or 4 lights, while the first-floor windows have 2 or 4 lights. There are six chimney stacks. The eaves are supported by shaped gutter brackets.
