Description
No 96 Churchgate is an early 19th-century house featuring roughcast walls and a stone plinth, topped with a hipped roof made of Welsh slates. The building has two storeys and displays a modillion eaves cornice. It includes four windows with glazing bars, three of which are located on the ground floor. The house boasts a well-designed Regency doorcase, which is adorned with reeded attached half-columns and a small frieze. The door itself consists of eight panelled ovals beneath a semi-circular ornamental fanlight. To the left, there is a later one-storey extension. No 96 is part of a group with Nos 2 to 10 (even) Spring Gardens, which are of local interest.
