Description
The former rectory, dating from the mid-18th century, is a large three-storey house constructed of brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring stacks at the gable ends. The building has rusticated quoins and is composed of three bays, with the central bay slightly advanced. It has five windows, all with plain keystones; the central window is more prominent and has moulded architraves. The ground floor features four windows without glazing bars. The entrance is framed by a stuccoed doorcase with Ionic columns, which supports a frill entablature and a dentilled pediment, along with a barred segmental fanlight. The eaves cornice is decorated with wood modillions. To the right, there is a single-storeyed wing with three-light angular bays. The rectory is visually significant within the town and forms a group with Nos 56 and 58, which are of local interest.
