Description
No. 62 Chapel Street is a police station built around 1900, now used as offices. The building is made of brick with terracotta decorations and has a Welsh slate roof. It is single-storeyed and located on a corner site, resulting in a triangular shape with a curved angle on the left side. The façade features pilasters with foliate capitals that support a continuous arcade at the front and rear. There are casement windows in nine recesses, with the main entrance on the right, which has a cornice hood supported by consoles, and a secondary doorway to the left. The cornice is topped by an open parapet with balusters and solid piers at intervals. The steep roof is finished with iron brattishing and has an octagonal spirelet at the angle, complete with an iron corona and finial. There is a stack at the rear left. The interior has not been inspected.
