Description

Victoria Bridge is a public road bridge that spans the River Irwell, built between 1837 and 1839, with the date 1839 inscribed on the south side. The bridge is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a single span with a semi-elliptical arch made of rusticated rock-faced voussoirs. It has a straight roll-moulded string course and parapets that include raised panels in the center, each topped with the Queen's orb on a large Grecian scroll.
