Description
The former Manchester Swimming Baths, now used for commercial purposes, was built around 1890. It is constructed of brick with terracotta dressings and features a part-glazed roof. The facade is designed to appear as two storeys, highlighted by a central pedimented feature above the entrance, which is set within a wide gable. The entrance includes a moulded four-centred arched doorway flanked by pilasters that spring from corbels, supporting a continuous string course. On either side of the entrance are grouped arched windows arranged in pairs. Above, there are paired windows on each side, with central paired windows that include mullions and transoms. The pedimented centerpiece showcases decorative terracotta panelling and is flanked by pilasters that extend into finials. Behind this, there is a gabled glazed roof structure. The interior has not been inspected.
