Description
The Clifton War Memorial, built around 1919, is a war memorial designed by Gordon Forsyth of the Royal Lancastrian Pottery. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a sculpted lion sitting atop a tall, tapering square shaft that has a base and capital. The shaft is adorned with a cross, rolls of honour, and an inscription that reads: "To the memory of the men of Clifton who died for freedom."
