Description
17 The Crescent is a house from the early 19th century that is now used for commercial purposes. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building stands two storeys high and features a five-window range, with a central block of three bays and a central entrance. This entrance is highlighted by pilasters that support a cornice over the ground floor. Above the doorway, there is a window set in an entablature. The entrance is flanked by tall sash windows, which are divided by two transoms on the ground floor, while the upper floor has 8-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads. The building also has a stone plinth and window aprons, angle pilasters, an overhanging stone eaves cornice, and a blocking course. There are single-storey bays on each side, each featuring a wide segmental archway that has been infilled with a later door and window. The interior has not been inspected.
