Description
This is a former cotton spinning mill, likely dating from the early 19th century, and subsequently altered. It is now part of a rubber processing works. The building is constructed of red brick in an English garden wall bond, with sandstone dressings, and has a slate roof. It is arranged in an L-shape, consisting of a long range running east to west, with a south-west wing. The mill has six storeys and originally featured 17 windows, now altered, all with small, segmental-headed tops and altered glazing. A parapet is present on the right-hand half of the building. There is a 5-window wing in a similar style. In the mid to later 19th century, the mill was adapted for the production of rubberised cloth by Mackintosh.
