Description

A house and attached cottage, likely dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, and altered subsequently. The brickwork of Moor Cottage is in Flemish bond, using red stretchers and yellow headers, while the rear portions are rendered. Both structures have slate roofs. Moor Cottage forms the principal part of the building, with Beech Cottage attached to the north, set back and canted back slightly. Moor Cottage was originally symmetrical, and features a central doorway with a panelled door, a 3-pane overlight, and a flat canopy supported by brackets. It also has a 19th-century semi-hexagonal full-height bay to the right, a 20th-century bay to the left, sashed windows with glazing bars, and exposed window boxes. Gable chimneys are present. Beech Cottage's facade breaks back slightly to the left of centre, incorporating a 6-panelled door with a 3-pane overlight, and two sashed windows on each floor. The left windows have 12 panes, and the right windows have 16 panes, all with exposed boxes, along with an extruded chimney at the left gable, largely obscured by the rear cottage.
