Description
This building, located at 84 and 86 King Street and 27 and 29 Pall Mall in Manchester, is an office structure dating from around 1910, with some alterations. It is likely iron-framed and features cladding of sandstone ashlar, although the roof is not visible. The building has a rectangular plan and is situated at the end of a block, designed in a classical style.
It stands three storeys tall and has five symmetrical bays. The ground floor exhibits channelled rustication and includes an arcade of round-headed arches on piers with moulded imposts. The right-hand arch serves as the entrance to a diagonal internal porch that connects to Pall Mall, while the other arches contain plate-glass windows. The upper floors are marked by giant pilasters and feature sashed windows with moulded architraves. A frieze adorned with wreaths is positioned above the four central pilasters, complemented by a moulded cornice and a parapet that has two rectangular corniced upstands.
