Description
The cruck barn located to the northeast of Brandlesholme Old Hall is believed to date from the 16th century. It is constructed from roughly cut local sandstone, which is only coursed on the exterior. The gables are made of brick. There are entrances in the middle of each side, with the west side's entrance interrupting a pentice that runs across this side. The barn features a stone slab roof supported by three massive cruck trusses, with the northernmost truss exposed in the gable, indicating that the barn was originally longer.
