Description
The commemorative stone is located on the north side of the bowling green, east of Tottington Hall. It is inscribed with the following text: "The Nuttall of Tottington Gent built this School in the year 1715 and Endowed it with 3 pound per annum. Peter Baron of Walshaw Gent in the year 1733 Endowed it with 9 pound per Annum. In the year 1774 an additional bay was erected by voluntary contributions." This stone was removed from the school in Kirklees Street.
