Description
The garden folly located south-east of Nabb's House, at the junction with Nabb's Way, was likely built around 1835. Constructed from stone, it is positioned at the apex of a triangular garden, providing a focal point for the short vista from the house and backing onto Brandlesholme Road and Nabb's Way. The folly is designed in a Gothic style, resembling a miniature castle on the rear and road sides, while the front, facing the house, has the appearance of a bare ruined choir. The front features a symmetrical arcade with narrow Gothic arches, and there are twin circular turrets at the back. The walls are rusticated and one storey high on three sides of the rectangular rear, adorned with various pseudo-primitive carved heads and figures. A miniature arcaded covered way extends from the left side along Nabb's Way and the path. This folly shares a similar character with Tottington Dungeon.
