Description
North Lodge, along with its gate post and railings, was built in the mid-19th century as a former lodge to Hilton Hall. It features a cottage orné style with cross-gabled roofs, decorative barge-boards, and finials. The building is constructed of painted brick and has one and a half storeys. Each side has a wooden casement window with transom and mullion design. There is a bay window topped with a fishscale pentice roof. A 20th-century square lean-to porch made of wood and glass is located at the angle between the front gable and a turret, which rises between this and the next gable and is topped with the remains of a bellcote. The lodge displays a coat of arms in a square panel. The stone gatepost features an octagonal cap, and there are railings with dog rails attached.
