Description

18 Parson's Lane is a former Union Offices building, dated 1865, designed in a classical style. It is constructed of red brick with extensive ashlar dressings and ornamentation. The building has two storeys and is nearly symmetrical, featuring four windows. The middle two windows are set back and have segmental pediments on the ground floor. The left-hand window is a three-light window with a cornice, balanced by a matching window in the third bay. The first-floor windows have panelled surrounds.

On the ground floor of the third bay, there are moulded-panel double doors situated under a keyed and rusticated arch. To the right of this, there is a vehicular archway beneath the right-hand window, which includes ornamental gates and a carved head on the keystone. The eaves cornice is supported by enriched brackets. Above the central bays, the words 'Bury Union Offices' are inscribed in sans serif capitals on a band around a shield, supported by scrolly floral motifs.
