Description
Besses United Reformed Church, including all associated buildings, is a Gothic revival structure dating from 1865. It is situated prominently at the fork between Old and New Bury Roads. The church is built of red brick, featuring bands, window heads, and tympana in various other colours, and it has steep slate roofs. The gable front displays a stone plate-tracery rose window set beneath a two-centred arch. The short transepts also have similar gables. The associated buildings to the east of the church feature steep gables, with one located to the north and two to the south.
