Description
No. 1 Summerseat Lane is a 18th century building that features an inscription over the door stating "Samuel and Martha Hamer 1762". However, it incorporates the structure of a previous 17th century house, which was built together with No. 29 Pot Green. The exterior is made of coursed rubble and the building stands two storeys high. It has two wood-mullioned windows, one with two lights and the other with three lights, although the lower right-hand window has been replaced by a 19th century bay window. The central door is set within a moulded doorcase that includes a cornice. The eaves are multiple-moulded with a gutter-cornice and a pulvinated frieze. The building also features brick gable chimneys and a slate roof.
