Description

No. 5 Cross Lane is an 18th-century detached cottage located set back from the road on a steep slope. The building is constructed of rubble stone in shallow, diminishing courses and features flush quoins. It has two windows with splay mullions: a four-light window on the right and a three-light window on the left upstairs, while the lower floor has a two-light window with the mullion removed and the sill lowered. Drip moulds are present on the ground floor. The cottage has an off-centre door with a flush surround and a wooden gutter supported by corbels. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends.
