Description
Dunscar Fold is a house dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century extension to the east. It is constructed of narrow coursed stone with large quoins, while the extension features water-shot masonry. The roof is made of stone slate, and there is a coped gable with finials at the entrance end.
The south facade displays double-chamfered-mullioned windows with 4, 2, and 5 lights on the ground floor, featuring a continuous drip mould that is dropped and returned at the right-hand end and returned around the left-hand angle. The first floor has 4:2:4-light windows. A cross-axial stack is present, and the end extension has no windows. The west gable end includes a continuous drip mould, a 5-light ovolo-mullioned window on the ground floor, and a 3-light window on the first floor with a label mould. An attic window has 3 lights, with the outer lights being blind and painted to resemble small-paned glazing. The entrance features recessed reveals, while the rear shows the original entrance with quoins and later windows and an entrance. Inside, the property has chamfered beams with stepped stops.
