Description

A row of three houses, possibly originally a single dwelling, located in Bolton and dating to the early 18th century. The houses are constructed from coursed and squared red sandstone with stone flagged roofs and slate coverings. The exterior features two storeys and a three-window range, with a two-window range supported by a gabled cross wing, the wing likely being a later addition. Paired doorways are present at numbers 3 and 4, each framed by moulded architraves and heavy stone jambs. Stone architraves also frame the windows on each side of the doors. The original mullioned windows have been altered, with the stone mullions removed. Number 5, occupying the gabled cross wing, has a doorway with a window on each floor, and features plain painted stone lintels. It is believed this section formerly served as a bakehouse. End walls and axial stacks are present, along with coped gables. The interior has not been inspected.
