Building at Former Arcon Engineering approximately 60 metres east of Wallsuches House

This former factory building, located approximately 60 metres east of Wallsuches House, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of dressed stone and features a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys, with the west facade consisting of three bays. The north and south facades are each about 25 metres long and have later extensions to the east.

The west facade showcases a rusticated ground floor and a first-floor sill band. Two ashlar panels flank a round-headed window, which has imposts and keys and was probably originally an entrance; it now contains a small-paned casement. The first floor has round-headed windows with keys and small-paned glazing, with the central window being blind. At the top, there is an open timber bell turret with a pyramidal roof. The north and south facades feature irregular bays with small windows and later entrances.

This building is a rare and early example of a bleach works, associated with the Wallsuches Bleach Works, which was founded in 1775 and was one of the first chemical bleach works in the country.
