Description

Paddington Grange is a former guest house, now a private dwelling, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick under a slate roof and has a ‘T’ shaped plan. The garden front is two stories and four bays, featuring French windows and a modern entrance porch, along with Regency recessed sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance front, also two stories, has original horizontal sliding sash windows at the first floor level.

Inside, the lounge contains a decorative Georgian ceiling with roundels, a wall frieze with an interlaced floral motif, a recess with pilasters featuring a floral design, and a door with panels decorated with a diamond motif. The former ballroom includes a panelled beam supported on consoles. Numerous Georgian six-panel doors exist on both the ground and first floors, alongside a 19th-century geometrical staircase with turned balusters.
